Image via Getty Netflix has announced the release date of ‘Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team’ – a docuseries following the United States Women’s National Team and their 2023 World Cup Journey, from tournament build-up to their shock round of 16 exit.The series was first teased over the summer but Netflix has since revealed the scope of the documentary, focusing not only on tournament performances but also injuries, the fight for equal pay and the USWNT’s legacy as one of the most successful national teams in football history. Fans can expect to see two-time World Cup veterans Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe in the upcoming docuseries, as well debutants and next gen talent Alyssa Thompson and Trinity Rodman. The USWNT have also made headlines recently as Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has been linked to the team’s Head Coach vacancy – a position that has yet to be filled since Vlatko Andonovski resigned from the position in August earlier this year, just two weeks after crashing out of the World Cup. With some big names retiring at the end of the year – Rapinoe and Julie Ertz to name just two – this docuseries will provide invaluable insight not only into how an elite team operates at the highest level, but what’s next on the horizon for a squad that needs to rebuild?
