Jamie Vardy has just signed a deal with Netflix that will see a docuseries on the Leicester City star’s journey hit the streaming platform in 2025.

The series will focus on Vardy’s one-of-a-kind story from non-league football to Premier League champion and the creation of a 21st century football icon. With small glimpses of his private life mixed in-between, this will be a must-watch deep dive into one of the sport’s most unique characters.

Netflix’s recent football documentaries have focused on some of the biggest, most widely regarded names in football. 

David Beckham’s series was a massive success, and with a Vinícius Júnior doc landing on the platform soon, Vardy’s story seems like a far cry from the glitz and glamour of Netflix’s usual subjects. But Vardy is a hero in his own right, with a trophy cabinet that rivals some of the most highly-regarded players in recent history. 

The deal and upcoming documentary could open the door to another series – a reality series centred around Rebekah Vardy and their home life. ‘At Home With Vardys’ is dependent on the success of the initial documentary, but fingers crossed production starts on that soon.

With Vardy joining Netflix’s star-studded lineup of football personalities, and a long list of players and managers immortalised on the silver screen, who could be getting the Hollywood treatment next?
