Endrick, the 17-year-old Brazilian sensation, is set to join US sportswear brand New Balance as their latest athlete signing.
Reportedly, the Palmeiras youngster was under contract with Nike until February 2023, after which the sports brand had a six-month window to extend their contract with the striker.
Following this period, talks amongst competitor brands looking to add Endrick to their books took place, but New Balance came out on top having impressed him with the level of prominence they could guarantee compared to the likes of Nike, adidas and PUMA – brands that already having some of the game’s biggest names on their rosters.
New Balance’s appeal to a younger audience courtesy of signing the likes of Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Harvey Elliott and Raheem Sterling in recent years, also better positions the brand to work with and promote Endrick – one of the most promising young athletes to grace the game in recent years.
Earlier this month, Endrick became the youngest player to receive a Seleção call-up since the legendary Ronaldo did at the same age in 1994. He’s already clocked 12 goals for Palmeiras so far this year, and with a move to Real Madrid already signed off for next summer, New Balance have really aimed for the stars with this signing.
