adidas and Real Madrid have released their new third kit for the 2023/24 season, reviving an iconic colourway with a nod to the club’s successful history.
The blacked-out kit is inspired by the one Los Blancos wore in the UEFA Champions League Final in 2000, lifting the European trophy for the eighth time. The jersey features those same gilded details, emulating that historic nostalgia in the current roster.
The club’s crest, shirt sponsor, and the adidas logo are a golden shade of yellow, creating a bold and eye-catching look. The only other accents in this colour are the club’s initials stitched on the rounded collar, which features a button fastening.
Sam Handy, Vice President for Design Football at adidas, said: “We’ve taken inspiration from Real Madrid’s long-standing place as trendsetters in the game of football, to create something that allows fans and players to stand out.
“First and foremost, this is a piece built to support athletes on the biggest stage. However, by designing at the intersection of legacy, identity and expression, this is a jersey built to be as successful for the fans on the street, as it is for the players on pitch.”
The kit is available to purchase on the adidas website, Real Madrid’s online store, and select retailers.
