Paris Saint-Germain golden boy Kylian Mbappé has revealed he had trials at both Chelsea and Real Madrid before becoming a superstar at Monaco and PSG
In a new piece for The Players' Tribune, Kylian wrote about his experience of nearly joining the Blues at just 11-years-old. The Bondy-born baller was called up for a trial at Chelsea and was left completely starstruck by the experience, before his parents stepped in.
His parents would prevent a potential move to the Premier League – but Mbappé has revealed he could've been a Chelsea player before he grew up and became the best young footballer in the world.

Speaking about his experience having trials in London, Mbappé said: “When I was 11 years old, I got to go to London for a few days to train with Chelsea’s youth team"
"After that experience at Chelsea, I was begging my parents to let me leave Bondy and go away to a big club. But you have to understand my mother and father. They wanted me to stay at home so that I could be a child and live a normal life."
The 21-year old now realises in retrospect it was the best thing for him: "I didn’t understand it at the time, but it was actually the best thing for me, because I learned a lot of hard lessons that I would have never learned in a bubble at an academy."
As for Kylian's current club, the collab collections keep coming – with Paris Saint-Germain and Jordan just dropping the first-ever women’s capsule collection.
