Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams have pledged money to Sir Martin Broughton’s Chelsea takeover bid.
The Broughton consortium is one of the three final groups shortlisted to purchase the Premier League club for £2.5bn.
The two sporting GOATs have united to dedicate funds towards a potential takeover at the West London club. Seven-time Formula 1 champion Hamilton is a well-known Arsenal fan - and will join the 23-time Grand Slam tennis champion Williams in pledging multi-million pound investments into the bid.
The Blues are currently operating under a special licence from the UK government after owner Roman Abramovich stepped down from ownership after his high-profile sanctioning - which led to him offering the club up for sale.
BBC Sport have reported that Hamilton and Williams have actually been involved with the Broughton consortium's bid from the start - though the duo would have no say on footballing decisions.
The Broughton bid has already been backed by Crystal Palace co-owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer, with additional funds from investment banker Michael Klein and Lord Coe.
The group faces competition to buy Chelsea from consortiums led by Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly and co-owner of the Boston Celtics Stephen Pagliuca.
