Shaqueel van Persie just followed in his father’s footsteps by signing his first professional contract with Feyenoord aged just 15.
21 years after his dad stepped out at De Kuip, SVP is about to take over where his dad left off. Shaqueel has inherited RVP’s eye for goal, after securing his status as Feyenoord U16s top scorer with 12 goals this season.
The new contract will keep him at the club until 2025, with Van Persie now set to play for his boyhood club for the next 3 years.

Speaking about his first pro deal, van persie said: "Because I've been playing at the club since I was ten years old, this day is extra special for me. Feyenoord feels like a second home to me. The supporters, the stadium, everything here is just beautiful. My dream is ultimately to play in De Kuip and do well there.'
Blessed with left footed finesse just like his old man, expect to see Shaq dunk on Dutch defences for the foreseeable future.
