Nike and Ronaldo Nazario Unveil the Blacked-Out ‘What the Mercurial?’ Superfly 360
Celebrating 20 years of Mercurial.
Nike’s first ever Mercurial line launched in 1998, and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of a football boot that has become synonymous with the quickest and most skillful players in the game. Ronaldo Nazario both inspired and became the first athlete to ever wear the model, and two decades later, Nike has enlisted him to launch the new ‘What The Mercurial’ Superfly 360 boot.
This version of the 2018 Mercurial Superfly 360 arrives in a monochromatic, all-black colourway and complete with state-of-the-art flyknit material.
This model is Swoosh-less, but features ‘NIKE” insignia on the insole, incorporating a host of iconic designs from the Mercurial lineage over the new silhouette without compromising the overall feel of the boot.
The 20th anniversary What the Mercurial is also packaged in a custom box that comes with an anniversary shoe bag. Take a look at the images of the new model below.
In keeping with the Mercurial’s original release date, 1,998 pairs of What the Mercurial boots will be available. 20 pairs will release at NikeLab Milan on March 8, and then made available March 12th through select retailers and at Nike.com/Bootroom.
