Nike just officially dropped the Air Mercurial Tn, a limited-edition drop that combines the Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly IX and Air Max Plus OG sneaker.
The boot arrives in 'Volt/Purple/Total Orange' as a nod to the OG Tn colourway first released in 1998 – a Nike silhouette that celebrated its 25th anniversary last year by collaborating with both fashion label A-COLD-WALL* and FC Barcelona x Patta for the club's 'Culers del Món' lifestyle capsule.
The latest commemorative release merges the trademark design of the Air Max Plus with one of football's most iconic boots, the Nike Mercurial Superfly. The sneaker's instantly recognisable wavy cage upper plays out in purple and black hues, whilst the hexagonal Tn icon, typically found on the tongue and heel, is replaced with 'Zm' and found on the sole plates.
We're only a month into 2024 and Nike are already setting the tone with these. Who knows what else they've got up their sleeves? Maybe those Air Force 1-inspired boots aren't too far away, after all.
