Reebok and Paris-based menswear brand BOTTER’s latest collab turns kits cosy and vintage football boots chic for AW24.
The two brands have been collaborating for over a year now, often playing around with futuristic elements and the histories of both Reebok and BOTTER’s designers, Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh. At the Parisian label’s Paris Fashion Week show, the partnership manifested itself in a collection that transcends blokecore.
We’ve seen football boots reimagined as ordinary footwear, with the latest being Coperni’s astro dress shoes. BOTTER models strutted down the runway in dress shoes with vintage football boots stacked on top – some so perfectly colour-matched you might not even notice at first glance.
Other looks were paired with an icy colourway of the duo’s Energia Bo Két trainers, arriving in a winter-ready palette of frosty blue and pale grey. With the hype surrounding foldover tongues on boots in recent months, these footy-inspired shoes are sure to be a must-have once they hit the shelves.
In addition to the pitch-perfect footwear the collab has blessed us with, two insulated, V-neck warm-up tops round off the footy-chic collection. A black top has the words ‘Caribbean Couture’ written across the front, in the same font as those iconic Carlsberg Liverpool kits from decades past. A classic, blue striped top features a dual-branded shirt sponsor, as well as a BOTTER club crest.
Luxury fashion’s obsession with football is obviously going nowhere, and when it’s done as well as this collection, all we can do is keep asking for more.
