Customising Nike’s Mercurial Superfly silhouette, the boots are dipped in gold with black details. Bonmatí debuted the boots over the weekend during Barcelona’s match against Villareal, as she continues her Ballon d’Or victory parade. The Spanish midfielder won the coveted award by a landslide after a trophy-filled year – she played an integral part in Barcelona’s Liga F and Champions League victories as well as Spain’s successful World Cup campaign. This isn’t the first time a pair of gilded boots have found their way into the Blaugrana camp. Last year, Nike gifted Alexia Putellas a pair of abstract metallic boots after winning her second Ballon d’Or in a row.
