Rafael Leão’s brand Son Is Son held a 5v5 tournament in Milan, alongside a pop-up shop teasing an upcoming kit drop.

The brand posted an open call a week before the tournament took place, giving anyone the opportunity to take part. Players were required to send in a freestyle skills video and eight teams were handpicked for the big day – including one chosen by Leão himself.

Each team battled it out on December 7 for a chance to win a €1,000 cash prize. The sides debuted the next 'Son Is Son' drop – a fashion forward kit capsule – with Leão’s team kitted out in head-to-toe AC Milan.

FC Zeta Milano took home the prize and the bragging rights, with the finalists gifted the new kits ahead of the release.

Leão is one of football’s biggest culture shifters, with his off-pitch hustles ranging from music under the alias 'Way 45', to fashion design. He launched 'Son Is Son' earlier this year and is already on his third drop.

The AC Milan superstar follows in the footsteps of Hectór Bellerín, Raheem Sterling and several others, who have launched their own fashion labels in recent years. And as players continue to explore interests outside of football, Leão certainly won't be the last player to enter the world of fashion.

Leão has been lighting up the pitch for years now, but he’s about to take streetwear by storm. Watch this space.
