London-based grassroots football club and community Rise United has launched a collection of bespoke kits for their second-annual Nations Cup tournament.

The club has created a safe space for players of East and Southeast Asian heritage, with the Nations Cup bringing those communities together through the beautiful game. For this year’s tournament, the club partnered with design agency 888.MSG to create custom kits for each nation represented.

The resulting kits are bold, colourful and stylish nods to different countries and cultures. With input from creatives and the club’s community members through design workshops, each jersey tells its own unique story with words, graphics and colour combinations.

To showcase the shirts, photographer and Rise United founder Darren Tsang captured intimate moments that highlight the sense of cultural pride within each participating team. Family scenes, cultural symbolism and jewellery and perfectly placed props tell the story of each cleverly-named team – from Kim Chikitaka to Roti Canai-ted.

The kits were available to purchase at Margins United’s festival pop-up store, connecting music, football and the ESEA diaspora flawlessly.

Future pop-ups and opportunities to buy these stunners haven’t been officially announced yet, but fingers crossed something is in the works soon.
