SBTV founder Jamal Edwards explores mental health in music in a new short documentary.

With input from the likes of Dave, Sasha Keable, Despa Robinson and Cleopatra Humphrey (fka Mz Bratt), the documentary succeeds in capturing those at the forefront, behind the scenes and also those that have taken a step back to offer a full exploration into the many effects being a public figure has on a musicians mental health.

A recently published report by Help Musicians UK, an independent charity for musicians, found that they are in fact three times more likely to suffer from depression than the general public. At the end of the year, Help Musicians will launch Music Minds Matter which will offer a 24/7 support line and service for the music industry.

Credit to Jamal for throwing himself behind this, helping to further the conversation and understanding of mental health in music.

Directed by Jack Harries, watch the new documentary above.
