FC Barcelona have unveiled a new limited-edition kit, replacing the Spotify shirt sponsor with one of Latin America’s biggest stars – Karol G.
With blaugrana stripes providing the perfect backdrop, the singer’s name sits inside a barbed wire heart, mimicking the whimsical, doodle-esque album art from her most recent album, ‘Mañana Será Bonito.’
This one-off jersey follows the Drake, Rosalía and Rolling Stones kits the Catalonian club has donned since the beginning of their partnership with Spotify. Each time, the artists’ logos and album artwork replaced the Spotify shirt sponsor to celebrate an achievement or new album.
The Colombian singer is a superstar in her own right, with a name that carries weight all through the Spanish-speaking world and beyond. ‘Mañana Será Bonito’ was the most streamed Latin album by a female artist last March, and with three songs reaching a billion streams on Spotify’s platform alone, she’s gone clear.
If those numbers weren’t enough, Karol G’s got the Alexia Putellas co-sign, topping the baller’s Spotify Wrapped last year.
In addition to the kit, limited-edition Barça x Karol G merchandise is up for grabs, with Bichota Season tees and hoodies in shades of pink and black.
