With the Champions League knockouts underway, adidas has unveiled a reworked collection of clothes and accessories fashioned from the UCL Official Match Ball.

Collaborating with up and coming London-based designers, the collection features stylish, one-of-a-kind pieces highlighting the main colours and design elements of this season’s Official Match Ball.

Leather bomber jackets designed by Sophie Hird place all the emphasis on the sunset-coloured graphics and iconic Champions League stars. The base of the jackets are vintage leather jackets seamlessly stitched together to create the bomber style, whilst patches of the colourful ball fill in negative space for a bold, new look.

Helen Kirkum’s reworked kit and boot bags are reminiscent of the Louis Vuitton duffles that players are typically seen carrying before matches. With the bright design of the ball and stars creating an eye-catching accessory, these bags will be on every footy x fashion lovers moodboard this year.

Lastly, beanies designed by Fungibles cap off the full UCL Pro Ball lookbook. Knitted in wool, cotton and cashmere, the beanies reflect the red, orange, white and blue of the match ball. A fringe similar to Ancient Greek helmets is the final, tenacious touch to a truly unique collection.

Barcelona’s Jules Koundé and Atlético de Madrid’s Rodrigo de Paul were consulted on the collection, even visiting the designers in London to see the design process. Both players will debut the collection before their Champions League Round of 16 matches this week.
