adidas and Newcastle celebrated the launch of their new third kit whilst on tour in Japan, linking up with Tokyo-based streetwear brands to host a fashion-forward futsal tournament.

The tournament kicked off on a rooftop pitch in Tokyo’s Shibuya district – one of the fashion capital’s most stylish neighbourhoods – with teams from multiple Japanese brands, including SHUKYU Magazine, BEAMS, United Arrows, NEIGHBORHOOD and Summit.

With some of the biggest names in Japanese fashion taking part, the Tokyo Super Cup was as much a showcase of style as it was skills. Each team’s kit riffed off of Newcastle’s third kit, with the newly revived retro NUFC badge decorating the back of each jersey.

The black, white and teal of the Magpies’ jersey served as the main colourway for each team, creating a uniform look across the tournament – and some one-of-a-kind kits everyone will be itching to get their hands on.
