Italian sportswear company, Stone Island, is looking to purchase a significant stake in Italian Serie C club Modena FC.

According to local reports in Italy, the rumoured move would see the sportswear company acquire a 30% stake in the club based in the same region of Italy that Stone Island originated from.

An announcement isn't likely to come before early March, but the rumours suggest the brand are looking to take its iconic apparel to the football pitch – and comes at a time when some of the biggest fashion brands in the world are linking up with football clubs to collaborate.

This new link up demonstrates the growing relationship between football and fashion, and follows in the footsteps of PSG linking up with Jordan Brand, Juventus and Palace Skateboards, and a recently rumoured Inter Milan and Palm Angels collaboration.
