New Balance continue their pursuit to support grassroots football by partnering with London based women and non-binary side Goal Diggers FC.
The agreement will see the brand provide the club with all technical wear, including a pitch-ready, blacked out home kit for the 2022/23 season.
Founded in 2015 with the aim of making football more accessible to women and non-binary people, Goal Diggers FC joins New Balance’s roster of football partners, including AS Roma and FC Porto, alongside fellow London grassroots team and national champions, Baiteze FC.
Ahead of a major international tournament on home soil this summer and increasing demand from women for grassroots playing opportunities, New Balance believe this long-term partnership can help the club go from strength to strength.
Founder of Goal Diggers FC, Fleur Cousens explained what the partnership means for the team; “We are very excited to be partnering with New Balance. They immediately understood our journey and we’re delighted they are supporting Goal Diggers FC in such a big way. Its clear New Balance are as committed as we are to growing the grassroots football community for women and non-binary people.”
Nicola Comley, Senior Marketing Manager at New Balance Football said; “Football is more inclusive and accessible because of the hard work done by grassroots communities like Goal Diggers FC. We love the ethos behind the team and wanted to do something meaningful to help them on their mission.”
As well as providing all the Goal Diggers FC kit, New Balance will provide vital funding to support the club’s growth.
The club is aiming to retain a permanent home for training while keeping membership fees frozen to help with accessibility.
Goal Diggers FC are currently playing in London’s Clubs United League, Islington Women’s Football League, Ladies Super Liga and Clapham Women’s Saturday Football League.
