adidas and Ajax’s 23/24 third kit is a serious nod to the club’s prolific academy system – one that gave the beautiful game Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten, Dennis Bergkamp and Edgar Davids, to name a few.
The design features an eye-catching diamond print, a symbolic reference to the club’s unique philosophy on scouting and talent development.
The Ajax Youth Academy, ‘De Toekomst’ (‘The Future’), has been the foundation of the club’s success for decades and continues to be a rich feeding ground for talent and future stars.
The predominantly black kit features silver details, such as the club crest, club’s sponsors, and Amsterdam’s iconic St. Andrew’s crosses – details found on the shirt’s neck as well as the kit’s socks.
The strip features match-wear and various off-pitch items such as a track shirt, hoodie, T-shirt, and accessories.
This is the fourth consecutive third kit the club has presented highlighting a bespoke chapter of their heritage. In 20/21, the black and gold kit paid tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Europa Cup trilogy in 1971, 1972 and 1973.
The colorful 21/22 third kit was inspired by the love the club, its fans and adidas share for Bob Marley and his iconic hit track, ‘Three Little Birds’.
In 2022/2023, adidas partnered with Amsterdam fashion brand Daily Paper for a golden kit celebrating the club’s roots in Amsterdam’s defining street football culture.
