Nike and Football Australia have unveiled the Australian National Football Team Collection, making history as the first Australia national team collection designed by a First Nations artist.
The kits were designed in collaboration with renowned Kamilaroi artist Reko Rennie, known for utilising First Nations motifs and cultural designs in his work.
The home kit reinterprets Australia’s usual green and gold in one of Rennie’s signature geometric patterns – a chevron design inspired by First Nations message sticks, sharing an empowering message of connection from the world's oldest continuous culture. The bold yellow base is accented by the striking design in various shades of green.
The away kit is a stunning 'night forest' number, with eye-catching side panels that could hold a place in Rennie’s next exhibition. The colourful chevron design – a recurring motif in the artist’s work – arrives in hot pink and bright green. The exact motif featured heavily in the artist's recent 'REKOSPECTIVE' exhibition and is Rennie’s own way of referencing traditional Kamilaroi symbols seen in traditional art and artifacts.
On the inside collar of both kits, the Aboriginal flag is printed – the first time the flag has featured on the country's kits and a final flourish.
Shot inside the National Gallery of Victoria by Ultra Football where Rennie’s ‘REKOSPECTIVE’ exhibition was held, the kits were modelled by Matildas star Kyah Simon and young Matilda Avaani Prakash—positioning them as wearable works of art that celebrate the past, present, and future of Australian football.
The Matildas debuted the kits earlier this year at the SheBelieves Cup, and will wear them through 2026 as they host the AFC Women’s Asian Cup. The Socceroos are set to debut them for 2026 World Cup qualifiers later this year.
The new Australia national team collection is available to purchase now at Ultra Football.
