PUMA and Manchester City just launched an AI kit creation platform, giving fans the opportunity to design the club’s next third kit.
The platform was created in collaboration with AI design studio DEEPOBJECTS, allowing fans to design the jersey of their dreams via text prompting and customisation tools.
Although this isn’t the first time AI has contributed to kit design, with Kappa and Red Star FC using the technology to create their 2023/24 home and away kits, an AI platform specifically made for designing football shirts is a first as the sport plunges into a new digital era.
A special launch event was held at the Etihad Stadium, with Ederson showcasing a goalkeeper kit he designed using the platform.
With PUMA’s AI creator tool handing the power over to the fans, the platform is up and running for City’s most innovative followers to try their hand at kit design.
Fans can create and submit their jerseys and rate other people’s designs until December 20. Ten kits will be shortlisted, with public voting opening in January.
The winner will have their creation immortalised, with the best design becoming Man City’s official third kit for the 2026/27 season.
