Chelsea and Nike have dived into 1990s jersey culture while tapping the players to lead them into the future to launch their 2019-20 third kit.
Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham front Nike and Chelsea's new campaign for the jersey, which draws influence from a celebrated era for the club. Although clean and modern in shape and tech, the blacked-out kit pays homage to the club's iconic 1994-96 away shirt.
Using throwback orange hits, a jacquard knit rising from the fabric of the shirt, an old school style collar and also a retro Nike ‘Futura’ sportswear logo, the new strip is dripping in 90's nostalgia.
“You can see the ’90s influence in fashion at the moment, and I think the kit will appeal to pretty much everyone,” says Blues midfielder Mason Mount. “Younger fans will like that it has a streetwear vibe and older fans will appreciate the sentimentality, remembering club legends who donned the famous jersey and their memories of going to games.”

Chelsea will debut the new third kit against Lille when their European campaign on the road begins October 2nd. It is available now from nike.com and the Chelsea FC megastore.
