Pharrell presented his highly-anticipated debut Louis Vuitton collection during Paris Menswear Fashion Week, and amidst all the suits and co-ords, he dropped a little gem for football lovers everywhere.

Pharrell’s latest football shirt takes the luxury house’s iconic Damier print and blows it up for a large-scale checkerboard design. To highlight the shirt’s base, the cuffs and collar arrive in white and are bisected by a thin, green line whilst a concealed zip allows for the piece to be worn like a traditional jersey, or as a stylish quarter-zip.

‘LV’ sits where a team’s crest would usually be positioned with ‘Vuitton’ taking centre stage as a shirt sponsor, and the words ‘Marque L.Vuitton Déposée’ are written where sports branding is traditionally placed.

It’s clear Pharrell has considered the meticulous details associated with a football jersey when designing the latest release, so authenticity hasn’t been lost on this high-end kit, as it even comes complete with a sleeve sponsor in the form of a ‘Lovers’ badge, which depicts a hand holding a red monogram flower.

Pharrell has had a longstanding relationship with football – having produced a series of club shirts for the likes of Juventus and Arsenal in collaboration with his own label Humanrace and adidas – so it comes as no shock he’s produced a football-inspired jersey for his first collection at the storied fashion house.
