A familiar face opened the Labrum SS24 show at the Four Seasons hotel over the weekend: Arsenal legend Ian Wright.

Wrighty walked at the head of the procession of models, exhibiting the London brand’s ‘NOMOLI ODYSSEY’ collection by sporting a patterned double-breasted navy suit over the Arsenal 23/24 LFSTLR jersey and a pair of customised adidas Sambas. Typical of Wright, though, the highlight of the look came up top. A heavy-visored teal cap that looked like it had been constructed using pieces from this season’s adidas Arsenal collection, complete with a Three Stripe logo and Gunners cannon. The football connection continued when Unknown T appeared sporting the new Hackney Wick FC shirt and tracksuit, designed by Labrum and sponsored by Netflix’s Top Boy.

As with all of his collections, Foday Dumbaya, the brand’s founder and head designer, took inspiration from two points on the map. “We’re always trying to tell stories that bridge the gap between the West and West Africa”, he told VERSUS when asked about the collection. “It’s where my two worlds collide.” And the latest release certainly does that.
