David Alaba and designer Grace Wales Bonner have launched an internship in collaboration with Mentoring Matters for Black graduates looking to work in fashion.

The Wales Bonner and David Alaba Internship will offer two successful candidates a 6-month paid placement at the Wales Bonner studio in London, either on the design team or in marketing and communications.

Alaba’s increased interest in fashion over the last few years and Wales Bonner’s newfound presence in the world of football makes this collaboration the perfect crossover – resulting in a once in a lifetime opportunity for followers of both.

The fashion industry is a heavily homogeneous space to navigate, with opportunities for Black graduates few and far between without connections in high places. This programme is a game-changer for fashion, championing diversity in showrooms and studios whilst building an unmatched foundation for the successful candidates to leap off of.

Applications for the design and product internship are open, closing on September 30. Applications for the marketing and communications role open in February.

The applications and more information are available on the Wales Bonner website.
