Macron and Bologna FC have partnered with the local government to gift every baby born in the city a free jersey starting this year.
The initiative aims to strengthen the club’s relationship with supporters and the local community, building an unbreakable bond from day one. Since January, Bologna has kitted every newborn in Rossoblù stripes, providing families with infant-sized kits for the club's newest members.
The shirts are distributed at two major hospitals in the city, as well as the municipality’s registrar offices.
Bologna is one of the most successful clubs in Italian football, with a history that millions have taken pride in for over a century. As the only professional club in the city, there's hardly any competition for their loyal fanbase, but that hasn't stopped them from building upon that connection whenever possible.
It might be unconventional, but Bologna just changed the game for one-club towns. Community is at the heart of football, and the Serie A club is building a foundation for the next generation of supporters from the very beginning.
Everybody wants to rep their set, but how many people can say they’ve been rocking the badge since day one? Bologna might’ve unlocked the next level of football.
