Manchester City have launched a groundbreaking partnership with snuggs, helping tackle the stigma surrounding menstruation in football.
Menstruation still remains a taboo topic in both football and wider society. This latest partnership is the first of its kind, aiming to empower current and future generations of Cityzens on and off the pitch to perform confidently without compromise.
First-team captain Alex Greenwood fronts the co-branded collection and joins snuggs as an ambassador. The partnership will also see academy players offered education on how best to manage their menstrual health, so they can rise through the ranks with confidence.
Many studies have documented how insecurities around menstruation and fears of leaks have driven young people out of sport. In football, clubs are taking steps to combat this, with 2022 seeing Manchester City become the first WSL side to change the colour of their shorts to a darker colour — a move since followed by many teams, including the Lionesses.
Respect to the Cityzens and snuggs for steering the game in the right direction, helping build a positive environment for ballers of all ages and abilities to play and thrive in.
