Admiral and New York Cosmos are running it back to the club’s glory days with a 1970s-inspired retro collection.

The Cosmos ran American soccer in the late ‘70s, lifting three North American Soccer League Championships between 1972 and 1978. Their on-pitch success was complemented by off-pitch glamour, with celebrity fans and blockbuster players like Pelé and Franz Beckenbauer staking the NYC side’s claim as the first-ever fashion club.

Fresh off their third triumph, Admiral joined the Cosmos’ galaxy in 1979, creating some of the most iconic kits the club had ever worn. Now, almost 50 years later, Admiral and the New York Cosmos are bringing the Studio 54 vibes back with retro remakes of the late ‘70s bangers. 

The kits, originally designed in collaboration with Ralph Lauren, arrive in navy and white with oversized, striped collars. The navy features a mustard yellow and white collar, matching the colours of the Cosmos’ badge. The white version inverts the colourway, with navy and yellow details. 

In addition to the remade jerseys, lifestyle kits and clobber make up a stunning retro collection. A tracksuit in the club’s original hunter green and yellow colour scheme headlines the drop, with T-shirts, modern jerseys and a blackout range creating the perfect slice of New York Cosmos nostalgia.
