Last night the First Direct Arena in Leeds hosted the 22nd MOBO Awards with Stormzy the big winner taking home awards for Best Male Act, Best Grime Act and Best Album for 'Gang Signs & Prayer.'
Presented by Maya Jama and Marvin Humes, the pair welcomed up J Hus, Giggs, Wizkid and Craig David, who picked up his sixth MOBO amongst winners on the night.

An unexpected highlight also came as Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn sent over words of support for the UK's burgeoning music scenes. Through a pre-recorded message the Labour leader told the crowd "The MOBOs play a crucial role in the British music industry, showcasing music of black origin...it’s more important than ever that we celebrate black excellence and recognise the achievements of black communities."
Recipient of the MOBO 'Paving The Way' award, Idris Elba was similarly effusive in his praise, "I remember when we used to watch all the big award shows in America and go, wow I hope we get an award show like that. Well now we've got one, and it's ours and we own it. You lot should be proud."
