Lyle & Scott are pledging £20,000 to four grassroots football initiatives as part of a new partnership with Common Goal, highlighting the beautiful game’s unsung heroes in Barcelona, London, Berlin and Amsterdam.
The ‘Community Clubs’ project supports four groups who use sport as a force for good in their cities, and Lyle & Scott have just dropped a new video series highlighting the positive change they’ve brought to life via their funding.
London’s Bloomsbury Football used their donation to help ten young people aged 16-21 complete their first FA coaching badges. In Barcelona, La Rotllana will give further investment to a social inclusion project that gives opportunities to female leaders.
In a similar vein, CHAMPIONS ohne GRENZEN in Berlin will start a programme for young women to improve their self-presentation and public speaking skills. Lastly, AFC DWS in Amsterdam invested their funds in classrooms and youth centres with the aim of improving local children’s academic performance.
There’s no denying that grassroots football has the power to transform lives on and off the pitch, but these community assets need investment and protection. This type of funding ensures their vital work can live on and continue to reach new generations of players.
