Neymar has recently been given his very own signature boot in the form of the Mercurial Puro Fenomeno, based on the original 'R9' Mercurials worn by his idol, Ronaldo.

Not one to shy away from the spotlight, Neymar seized his opportunity to promote his new boot after slotting in a penalty to put his side in front during their French League Cup quarter-final against Amiens.

Pretty straightforward to assume that one of the world's most expensive footballer earning £537,000-per-week would celebrate in this way because Nike had a word, right? Well despite being dubbed the "Nike Celebration" by Football Twitter, Neymar has claimed otherwise.

quem conhece o @jcelsomoraes sabe o porque da minha comemoração e quem não conhece é só arrastar pro lado que vai entender ?? Parabéns irmão, muitas felicidades... Tamo juntoooo

Taking to Instagram after the game, the Paris Saint Germain star explained that the celebration was dedicated to his friend, João Celso Moraes, whose 'party-trick' appears to be – you guessed it – balancing drinks on his forehead.

He shared a couple of images of Moraes' talents as proof that it wasn't just a stunt on behalf of his main sponsor.

We'll let you make your own mind up, but rest assured you can expect to see it become a FIFA celebration very soon.
