Nike and Liverpool FC have released the highly-anticipated away shirt for the 2023/24 season and it doesn’t disappoint.
The new design is a contemporary take on the iconic 1995/96 green and white away number, famously sported by Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman on the Reds’ journey to the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The new shirt takes the green and white quarter pattern of the 95/96 iteration and updates it with a digital effect, layering tonal greens – ‘green spark’, ‘poison green’ and ‘pine green’ – in a modern twist. The top is complete with both a black trim collar and sleeve cuffs, with the iconic Liver bird motif also arriving in blacked-out fashion.
In line with LFC’s ‘The Red Way’ sustainability programme, the Nike kit is sustainably made with both on-pitch and replica jerseys constructed using 100 per cent recycled polyester fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles.
The men’s team will debut the new away kit against Leicester City during their pre-season tour in Singapore, while the women’s team are set to wear it for the first time during their pre-season matches in late August.
