The pre-match crep check is an important ritual for any player stepping out onto the pitch in their pre-match kit before kick-off – but Phil Foden, Harry Kane and Gareth Southgate have all been seen rocking something special this World Cup.
In partnership with The FA and Nike, newly-created sneaker platform CANVVS has supplied England's World Cup squad with a unique, customised Nike Air Force 1 to support them in Qatar.
The trainers take inspiration from the gradient pattern of the current home kit, with the England players working with customisers to give their shoes unique personal touches. These have included quotes and messages to inspire them, along with player initials and the England team’s new legacy numbers.
CANVVS, which will officially launch in the new year, is a platform that allows the world’s best sneaker artists to create and supply their designs to athletes, sneakerheads, fans and art collectors around the globe.
It's an interesting step to regulate and solidify the sneaker customisation market. Hopefully this collab with England leads to more exciting work and on-foot innovation.
