Barcelona’s once again paid tribute to the club’s Catalonian heritage with the launch of their new 22/23 fourth kit.
Featuring the Catalan senyera flag on the chest - a core design feature Barça have included in recent fourth kit releases - the shirt is predominantly made up of a yellow base with four red stripes, synonymous with Catalonia.
The shirt also takes inspiration from the captain's armband, and includes the iconic Blaugrana colours on the sleeves' cuffs. Whilst its template is similar to the one Nike used for the USA's 2022 World Cup strip, with the team's badge found in the centre - along with title sponsor Spotify - and two 'Swooshes' situated on each of the sleeves.
'+Catalunya + Barça' is the shirt's slogan and conveys the spirit of the club and the pride of being from Barcelona and Catalonia - which is why Antoni Gaudí's La Pedrera - Casa Milà was used as the backdrop for the launch video, arguably one of the most recognisable architectural designs associated with Barcelona.
Barcelona's men's team are set to debut the shirt during their upcoming Catalan derby, against Girona. Whilst Barça's women's will don the yellow strip against Granadilla Tenerife.
