Italian publisher nss Sports have released their latest photobook, 33-L’ANN’ E CRIST, celebrating Napoli’s second and third Scudetto wins and the 33 years that separate them.
Before Luciano Spalleti’s side ran away with the Serie A title this year, I Partenopei had gone over three decades without a championship. Not since 1990 and the times of Diego Maradona have Napoli been champions of Italy. Using images from nine photographers, 33-L’ANN’ E CRIST tells the story of a city’s relationship with the mystique, anticipation and joy surrounding the coveted third championship.
Launched alongside a limited edition J’Adore Napoli jersey at an event at Spazi Volta, the book documents a generation’s pursuit and eventual fulfilment of a lifelong dream. “Men made the world, God made Naples. The Scudetto in Naples is the transformation of men into gods”.
