VERSUS and size? are bringing 'The House Party' to Brighton next week, the first date in a series of live events dedicated to celebrating the best of new football culture.
Taking over the size? store on North Street on August 4, our first House Party will celebrate 'Pride in Football' and take place just two days before another iconic Brighton Pride event.
On the back of Jake Daniels becoming the first pro player in England to come out as gay for over 30 years, a landmark Women's Euros tournament that showed us what LGBTQIA+ inclusivity can look like on the pitch and on the terraces, and Rainbow Laces campaigns becoming a permanent fixture in the calendar – it feels like football is more motivated than ever to become a safe space for queer people.
We're advancing that conversation in our first House Party courtesy of a live panel featuring Rinse FM's Jordss, Lewes FC captain Ellie Hack, and members of the VERSUS team. We'll also be bringing vibes all night long with DJ sets from Gal Pals, gaming stations to play FIFA 22, drinks courtesy of Hennessy, and much more. The event is also supporting the Albert Kennedy Trust (akt), a charity that helps members of the LGBTQ+ community aged 16-25 living in hostile or abusive environments, as well as those struggling with housing.
Tickets to VERSUS x size?'s first edition of 'The House Party' are available for free now. First come, first serve.
