Jean Paul Gaultier has just unveiled a new campaign fronted by Real Madrid and France baller, Karim Benzema, with KB9 linking up with JPG on a new pair of signature sunglasses.

Available in three striking colourways: “Gold/Green,” “Black/Black” and “Silver/Purple,” each pair draws on past JPG house cues from the ’90s, with Bugatti Benz opting to create a re-edition of the iconic 1990s 56-6106 frame, which was famously donned by 2pac.

Limited to just 500 units per design, the sunglasses combine iconic motifs such as the Gaultier branding on the bridge and the arms that transform from three prongs into a coil along with acetate tortoiseshell, with Benz's “KB9” motif engraved into the temples alongside a unique serial number.

With Jean Paul Gaultier is currently enjoying a brand revival thanks to Y2K trends continuing to pop off while the brand host guest designers such as Olivier Rousteing, Glenn Martens and Chitose, the link up with one of football's most fashion forward ballers serves as another heavyweight tie-in between football and high fashion in 2022.
