Fresh from helping Manchester City to a third successive League Cup dub with a man of the match performance in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa at Wembley, Phil Foden is now reportedly set to get a call up for the senior England squad for the first time ever.
According to The Telegraph, Foden is expected to receive his first senior England call-up when Gareth Southgate selects his squad for the Three Lions' crucial friendlies aginst Italy and Denmark.
Despite it only being the 10th start of the season for Foden, the Stockport Iniesta showcased exactly what he could do when given time on the pitch. The 19-year-old baller grabbed an assist alongside his MOTM award – but his standout moment was his effortless first touch following a classic Kevin De Bruyne pass.

Foden has continued to impress every time he's been afforded minutes by Pep Guardiola this season, having created a big chance every 31 minutes in his Champions League appearances in 2019-20 – surpassing none other than Lionel Messi, who creates a big chance every 69 minutes.
It's clear that Phil Foden is ready to become Man City’s main man. Revisit our exclusive interview with him last year, where Foden told us: “I believe I can make the difference in every game I play”
