The NBA is heading to South Africa for the NBA Africa Game 2018.
After successful exhibition games in 2015 and 2017, the NBA is once again heading to Africa for a showpiece 'Team Africa vs Team World' game that will be headlined by Joel Embiid – captaining Africa – and DeMar DeRozan representing Rest of the World.
Other players confirmed for Team Africa include: Al-Farouq Aminu (Portland Trail Blazers; parents from Nigeria), Bismack Biyombo (Orlando Magic; Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Evan Fournier (Magic; France; parent from Algeria).
Those lining up for the Rest of the World will include Harrison Barnes, Danilo Gallinari and Rudy Gay. The game will be played in support of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, in honour of his centenary year.
With the two previous NBA games both being a sell-out, expectations are high yet again. The star-studded exhibition match will take place on August 4th at Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria, South Africa. Tickets are available on June 15th.
