Italian fashion label Loro Piana will continue to build on last season’s link-up with Juventus by extending their partnership to dress Juventus Women ahead of 22/23.
The new collaboration sees the fashion house design for a women’s team - a first for both parties - describing the imminent collection as “the perfect balance between elegance, comfort and functionality.”
As well as their new women’s apparel, Loro Piana will still design and provide Juventus men’s team with both custom-tailored suits for special occasions and a new casual wear range.
Although no details have yet to be revealed by Loro Piana, the brand has told the fashion world to expect the new drops to prioritise “thermoregulation, breathability, softness and natural elasticity”. But if last season's Juve collection is an indication of what we can expect in the coming weeks, think clean, classic Italian tailoring.
Their upcoming Juventus Women’s collection really sets a precedent and leads the way for brands to support the fastest growing sport in the world: women’s football.
Despite seeing the likes of eight-time UWCL winners Olympique Lyonnais Féminin wear club bespoke suits during the domestic season, and recent European Champions England don bespoke M&S suits - like Gareth Southgate's side did for Euro 2020 - we’ve yet to see fashion labels create and provide women’s footballers with pre-match clothing of this magnitude.
This is a huge step for the women's European game moving forward, especially. Here's hoping more labels recognise the power of linking up with some of the game's best ballers.
