eSports have been refused entry to the Olympic Games.

International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach has ruled out games featuring eSports as they showcase violence and killing that are “contradictory to the Olympic values and cannot, therefore, be accepted,” stating that, “we cannot have in the Olympic programme a game which is promoting violence or discrimination.”

Bach was talking at the Asian Games, which will begin incorporating eSports as a medal sport from 2022 - a notable step towards eSports becoming recognised as an actual medalled sport in future worldwide games in years to come.

In other eSports news, Mesut Ozil is recruiting his own eSports team and is recruiting players right now.
