Deontay Wilder has told the world what it will take to get him inside a ring with Anthony Joshua.

The two heavyweight world champions are slated to fight at some point next year in what will be the biggest heavyweight fight for at least a decade and the WBC champion insists the proceeds from the fight should be split 50-50.

Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has previously laughed at suggestions Wilder should earn the same amount of money as AJ, but the Bronze Bomber is holding firm with his demands.

Speaking to ESPN, Wilder said:

"It is a great fight, it is one of the biggest fights in the world and everyone wants it. (But) it will be 50-50 or else we don’t see a fight. If they want to use splits not to make a fight happen, then so be it. It is not like I’m asking for more – I’m saying this is a 50-50 fight and that’s how it is. In the rematch we can talk about 60-40 splits of whatever – that is more acceptable."

While both men hold world heavyweight titles, Wilder's profile in the United States is still relatively small and he's arguably more famous in the UK as a result of his prospective bout with AJ.

In their most recent bouts, AJ took home a reported £10 million for his fight with Carlos Takam, while Wilder's purse for fighting Bermane Stiverne was just over £1 million.

This would be the biggest pay day of Wilder's career by far.
