Tyson Fury is officially back in the fight game.
The ex-heavyweight division king has signed a promotional deal with Frank Warren and announced he'll be making his return to the ring against an unnamed opponent on June 9th at the Manchester Arena.
It'll be Fury's first fight since he outpointed Wladimir Klitschko to become unified heavyweight champion of the world in 2015 – a claim to which Anthony Joshua has now made his own with a string of wins at the top of boxing's most glamourous division.
In typical Tyson Fury style, the 29-year-old self-titled 'Gypsy King' didn't wait long to fire shots in AJ's direction:
"Joshua is a dosser, a belt carrier...by the time I get ready to fight, it's going to be an easy night. I’d outbox him and knock him out. He’s not the hardest man to land a punch on and I don’t believe he holds the best shot either."
At the end of AJ's most recent victory over Joseph Parker, in which he claimed the WBO heavyweight title, the Watford fighter said he wanted his next opponent to be either Fury or the division's WBC title holder, Deontay Wilder.
Now the war of words has begun, we all just got one step closer to Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury.
