Mo Salah is having an impact on decreasing the levels of Islamophobia in Liverpool and Merseyside as per a new report from Stamford University.
A new report titled "Can Exposure to Celebrities Reduce Prejudice?" has looked at the 'Impact of Mo Salah on Islamophobic Behaviour and Attitudes' in Liverpool, and the findings illustrate that Salah is having a significant influence off the pitch in changing attitudes to race and religion in the area.
The report reveals that there has been a 19% decrease in Merseyside hate crimes, and a 50% reduction of anti-Muslim tweets since 2017 – a significant reduction since Salah signed in June 2017. Take a look at some of the key statistics from the report below.
