Two iconic figures, from two British music subcultures, are joining forces.

Drum and bass label Metalheadz have announced a "cross-genre collaboration everybody’s talking about – between the don of drum‘n’bass and one of the leaders of a new generation of grime".

Metalheadz co-founder and d'n'B maestro Goldie will indeed link up with Skepta, to release vinyl only release 'Upstart'.

Down at the launch of Skepta's SK Air collab with Nike, in London, Goldie confirmed to us the pair were working together and true to his word, news of this vinyl release has surfaced.

The 12" vinyl exclusive will cost £6.66 and is already available for pre-order from Metalheadz' Bandcamp page.

Renowned for dark, bass-heavy production, Goldie's sound fused with Skepta's current trend, as heard on new 'dark grime' EP Vicious, is one that has rightfully has us very excited.

Metalheadz also today announced a special event at Electric Brixton celebrating two decades of prominence within dance music. Tickets available here.
