The Premier League has a new record breaker.

Manchester City's midfielder Leroy Sane is now the fastest player in Premier League history, after clocking a sprint speed of 35.48 kilometres per hour (22.05 mph) during his team's win over Chelsea last weekend.

Sane – who was signed from Schalke 04 in a £37 million deal in 2016 – has overtaken Jamie Vardy's previous sprint speed record.

Opta began recording speed records in 2014. Patrick van Aanholt is this season's second fastest player, with Antonio Rudiger in third.

Looks like EA SPORTS already need to update Sane's speed on FIFA.
