Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has described Phil Foden as the "most talented player" he has ever seen during his career as a head coach.

Guardiola has managed the likes of Lionel Messi, Kevin de Bruyne and Robert Lewandowski, but decided to laud Foden as the Stockport born-baller joined him at a press conference during the club's tour of South East Asia:

"I have said many times in press conferences, but maybe not said it in front of him. Phil is the most, most, most talented player I have ever seen in my career as a manager. He has everything to become one of the best players."

Foden will be looking for a more prominent role next season with this serious backing from his manager. The 19-year-old played a lowkey role in City's domestic treble of Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup titles last season, but said that he feels like is in a great environment to learn under manager Pep Guardiola.

"I am lucky to be part of it," said Foden. "It is a special team. The success comes from the depth of the squad. Anyone who plays will put a shift in and play well."

In other young baller news, Reece James will stay at Chelsea and has been backed to have a breakthrough year at Stamford Bridge.
