NFL star Malcolm Jenkins has become the latest investor at Burnley FC.

The New Orleans Saints Safety and two-time Super Bowl champion is now the only active NFL player with a stake in a Premier League Football Club.

Jenkins has acquired ownership through ALK capital who recently gained 84% through buying shares in the club last year December.

Jenkins, who has been playing in the NFL for 13 years, is also a social justice advocate and a member of various executive boards. He also leads up a $10M investment vehicle funded by Black investors.

The move represents a growing trend of creating more wealth opportunities for minority athletes and entertainers, especially in industries and spaces that lack diversity. Other notable America athletes who have acquired stakes in football teams include Lebron James with Liverpool, Serena Williams with Angle FC and Naomi Osaka with North Carolina Courage.

Big respect to Jenkins on his latest venture.
