Netflix are finally dropping a feature-length documentary on Pelé next month, with the legendary baller joining a long list of players to be immortalised in film.

The GOAT of the game revealed the partnership with Netflix on Instagram and the new documentary, which drops on February 23rd, looks back at the extraordinary 12-year period in which Pelé, the only man to win three World Cup titles, went from superstar in 1958 to saviour in 1970; a radical yet turbulent era in Brazil’s history.

As well as unprecedented interview access to Pelé, the film includes astounding archive footage and interviews with legendary former team-mates including Zagallo, Jairzinho and Rivellino. Simple titled 'PELÉ', the film looks like it will be a type of standard the legendary player deserves with Academy Award-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald serving as Exec Producer.

Pelé's status as one of the greats in the game can not be argued and there's no doubt that this new insight will further secure his legacy.

'PELÉ' is available to stream on Netflix from February 23rd.
